Dwell in joy

PRACTICE

— dialling up the joy

When something good happens, we tend to think, ‘Great - what next’ and absurdly, when something doesn’t go to plan, we tend to dwell on it, ruminate and let it bring our energy down. This practice is about allowing joyful, happy energy to have a more significant impact.

Our energy is everything — we can only think as good as we feel.

When things aren’t good

Notice, acknowledge, accept and process the feelings it brings up. Write down or plan out what actions must happen, then let it go (here’s more detail).

When something good happens

Notice it. Close your eyes, pause, and take a deep breath in and out. Keep the eyes close and feel the gratitude in your body; feel the joy, love and happiness in your heart — give it space to grow. You can also journal about it or share it with a friend.

Notice all the good, teeny tiny moments and the more significant wins.

QUESTION

How do you express your gratitude?
